Maasmechelen-Saenhoeve/Dilsenerbos

Woody area, on the edge of "Kempisch Plateau", edging the plain of the river Maas. The nature reserve "De Mechelse Heide " limits this area on the southern side. To the east, we can find the remainders (slagheaps) of the former coalmine of Eisden. Old foothills, formed by the river Maas, yield a rugged relief. The terrain is crossed by many paths and roads. In summer time, parts of the area are fern-covered, resulting in slower running speeds.

Maasvallei

Terrains of the former Eisden coal-mine. The lakes are overschadowed by 2 slagheaps. (Take care on the slope in case of rainy weather!)

Vierveld

New extension of the map Maasvallei.
Terrains of the former Eisden coal-mine, now in possesion of the Limburgse Reconversie Maatschappij, near the shopping centre Maasmechelen Village.
Typical variations in vegetation.
